To the editor:
I am proud to call New Hampshire my home and will work for you in the state legislature to restore opportunity to our state and protect our heritage.
My top priority will be working with the legislature and the next Republican governor to bring high paying employment and prosperity to New Hampshire.
Reduce New Hampshireโsย business taxes, which are holding back millions of dollars in new investment here and blocking the job growth we need.
Support strategies to encourage start-up enterprises to locate here and to hire here.
Oppose an income or sales tax. Limited constitutional government protects everyone and is a cornerstone to New Hampshireโs tradition of liberty.
Iโll fight to lower our electric rates by increasing supply for households and businesses. I will support improving existing infrastructure and capacity while safeguarding the environment (without resorting to destructive proposals such as the Kinder Morgan pipeline).
I oppose state and federal unfunded mandates.
I oppose Obamacare, which is driving skyrocketing costs in state government and unsustainable tax increases.
Brookline and Mason citizens should self-govern. I will defend local decision making in areas such as town planning and budgeting.
Parental control of schools and curriculum. This is the hallmark of what makes New Hampshire a great place to live. I will oppose Common Core and similar proposals that take you out of the driverโs seat of your childโs education.
I will support strong communities, and defend our Second Amendment rights.
I have been privileged to serve the town of Brookline as a selectman. As the state representative for Brookline and Mason, my goal is clear: Cut useless spending, lower taxes, and provide superior services to the citizens of our towns. Thank you for your vote on Nov. 8.
John Carr
Brookline
