The Mascenic girls’ volleyball team got an epic game from sophomore middle hitter Shannon Agonis against Epping last week, but it was for naught, as the Vikings dropped the contest 3-2. However, Mascenic will get a quick shot at redemption, as the two teams will face off in the first round of the DIII playoffs on Thursday.
Agonis made 15 kills and 12 blocks in last week’s game. Melonie Ojala added 11 kills, and Megan Coponen made six digs.
Mascenic (11-4) finished as the No. 6 seed. They’ll host 11th-seeded Epping (8-8) Thursday at 6 p.m.
