At Wednesday’s meeting, Byk told the board that he spoke with an attorney from the Public Water Access Advisory Board, who gave the opinion that the town cannot restrict the public boat access to Pool Pond. The question was asked by a member of the Pool Pond Protection Association at a previous board meeting.
Byk also said he has been in touch with the DMV and the town’s insurance carrier about replacing the destroyed benches on the town common.
“We’re trying to find a way to net the most money to get the benches replaced,” said Byk in an interview Monday. He added that the next step is to see if anything happens with the DMV.
