To the editor:
Every voter needs reliable information about the candidates, up and down the tickets, but it is difficult to come by.
I recommend Project Vote Smart, a nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization founded by leading members of both major parties (Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, Barry Goldwater, George McGovern, as examples). Using mostly volunteer interns, the project compiles voting records, public speeches, campaign finance reports, etc., on each and every candidste for whom there is available information.
The project is extensively used by the news media for information, but is available free for anyone. Call them at 1-888-VoteSmart, or watch their YouTube video.
I strongly recommend this for all thoughtful voters.
