The Temple Band, “America’s First Town Band,” will resume weekly rehearsals for its 2016-2017 season on Monday, Oct. 17 from 7 to 9 p.m at the Temple Town Hall in Temple. New members are welcome to join on Monday nights through the end of October (17 and 23).

The Temple Band is an all-volunteer, non-profit community band drawing members, ranging in age from 10 to 85, from the Monadnock and Souhegan Valley regions of southern New Hampshire. There are no dues, fees or auditions required, however two years’ experience on your concert band instrument is requested and a commitment to try to make at least half of our rehearsals and shows. All concert band instruments are welcome.

Of special interest to high school musicians; the Temple Band offers an annual scholarship for graduating seniors who have made a serious commitment to the band.

The band meets for weekly rehearsals on Monday night from 7 – 9 p.m. from October to May. The performance venue includes a December Christmas benefit performance and about 15 summer events scheduled throughout New England.

Rehearsals are held in the Town Hall, located on Route 45 south off Route 101 in the center of Temple.
