Jacob Blixt poured in a goal and an assist as the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team followed up an double-overtime setback with an impressive 3-1 victory over Northeast-10 Conference opponent Southern Connecticut State University Saturday evening at Sodexo Field. The win moves the Crimson and Grey to 5-1, 3-1 NE-10 on the season and the loss drops the Owls to .500 at 3-3-1, 1-2-1 NE-10.
Blixt has been a key contributor to the Ravens success in the early going as the Swede has tallied six goals and five assists amassing a league-best 17 points. Blixt assisted on Niklas Laudahn’s first career collegiate goal as Blixt took a corner kick, lofted the ball high into the box and Laudahn headed it home for the Ravens second goal of the night.
10 minutes later teammate Noam Kolakofsky found Blixt at the 25 yard and he dribbled the ball through a few defenders, stopped on a dime and rifled the rock and tickled the twine to make it 3-1 lead, an advantage the Ravens wouldn’t relinquish.
The Ravens wrap up their three game homestand on Wednesday against No. 4 nationally-ranked Southern New Hampshire at 7:00 p.m.
