The Franklin Pierce University women’s tennis team was defeated at home on Tuesday afternoon, 8-1, by Southern New Hampshire in a Northeast-10 Conference match
With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 0-5 (0-4 Northeast-10), while SNHU improves to 3-1 (2-1 Northeast-10).
The lone point for the Ravens on Tuesday came courtesy of freshman Kelly O’Donnell (Maywood, N.J.) at fifth singles. Playing in the pro-set format with the team match already decided, O’Donnell notched an 8-5 win over SNHU junior Jacqueline Youngdahl.
In all, SNHU had four players who were victorious in both single and doubles play on Tuesday, led by graduate student Abla Chadli, who took home wins at first singles and second doubles. At first singles, she swept to a 6-0, 6-0 win, after teaming with sophomore Anna Sala for an 8-1 win at second doubles.
The Ravens return to the court on Thursday, Sept. 15, when they remain home to host American International in a Northeast-10 Conference match at 2:30 p.m.
