Author Howard Mansfield and photographer Joanna Eldredge Morrissey will visit the Toadstool Bookshop to discuss their new book “Sheds” on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m.
Expanding upon a section of Mansfield’s book “Dwelling in Possibility: Searching for the Soul of Shelter,” “Sheds” is an in-depth look at New England’s most distinct and practical structure and what makes them so essential to both work and play.
The photographs by MacDowell Colony staff photographer Joanna Eldredge Morrissey capture meeting houses, ice fishing shanties, saunas, dream spaces, covered bridges and all the ubiquitous structures seen every day that we don’t think of as sheds.
