Artist Maryann Mullett of Dublin will be exhibiting two paintings at the Pastel Painters of Maine 2016 17th annual International Juried Exhibition for “Pastels Only.”
The exhibit will be held at the UNE Art Gallery in Portland, Maine, opening on Oct. 13 and running through Jan. 7. Admission is free.
This annual juried exhibit accepts submissions from notable pastel artists from all over the world. Up to $5,000 in prizes will be awarded for outstanding new work. Juror was Casey Klahn, a nationally recognized pastelist and colorist. He also will serve as award juror.
Mullett’s paintings “Going” and “Beauty in Ageing” have been juried into this exhibit.
An opening reception will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 3 to 5 p.m. Klahn will be present for an art talk titled “Color as Content” from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Presentation of awards will take place at 4 p.m.
