Junior captain Camden Morrison led the entire field with a 69 (-3) as the Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team opened the 2016 campaign with a first place finish at the annual FPU Fall Invitational Sunday at the Bretwood Golf Course in Keene.

Morrison’s score was a collegiate personal best as she shot three under par. As a team, the Ravens shot 319 (+31) for the day as Adelphi University finished second behind their Northeast-10 Conference rivals with a 336 (+48) score. Southern New Hampshire (340 +52), Merrimack (341 +53) and Assumption (353 +65) rounded out the final three spots. This is the third straight season the Raven women have taken the top spot in their home invitational.

Sophomore Sarah Daley tallied an 82 (+10) which was good enough for a seventh place finish. Teammates Taylor Schmidt, Zoey Yamamoto and newcomer Rosa Jones all tied for 10th place with scores of 84 that were (+12) over par.

Shannon Slater shot a 91 (+19), Sydney Caron racked up a score of 97 (+25), Margaret Waugh and Carly Bouchie of Rindge finished the invite with scores of 98 (+26) and 104 (+32) respectively. These Raven golfers competed as individuals.

FPU returns to the course next Sunday for a two day meet with Gannon in Erie, Pa.
