Dietsch stands out

To the editor:

Over my nearly 20 years working as the school to career coordinator in the ConVal School District, I’ve spent a lot of time working on how we can help students with different interests find fulfilling, good-paying career opportunities in New Hampshire when they finish high school or college. That’s why I support Jeanne Dietsch for state Senate in District 9.

I’ve known Jeanne since her robotics company was in the “incubator space” at the Region 14 Applied Tech Center in Peterborough in the late 1990s. Jeanne stood out for her openness to hosting student interns – introducing our students to a cutting-edge field of study and exciting career opportunities. I’ve since seen Jeanne help found the local Maker Space (where creative thinkers blend interests in technology and the arts to spark new ideas and build new ventures) and help steer the Peterborough Economic Development Authority’s new initiatives to bring more young people to our area.

Jeanne is committed to helping build the foundation for a brighter future for our state, especially when it comes to attracting young families and entrepreneurial people who will start home-grown New Hampshire-based businesses. We need to find jobs for our graduates and we need more young adults to “stay, work and play” in New Hampshire. Jeanne gets that.

I believe in Jeanne’s vision for how to reinvigorate the local economy, I respect her business expertise, and I like the passion and energy she’s bringing to her campaign and will bring to representing us in the state Senate.
