The temperature dropped while the humidity rose for the last Jack Murphy 5K fun run of the 2016 season. With the high schooler back in season for cross country, those athletes that have finished their high school careers and those yet to begin them had their opportunity to shine. Peterborough resident and former Conant ace Ian Ramey made it two weeks in a row and three for the season, winning this one in 19 minutes, 26 seconds. Probably with the most second place finishes on the season, Nels Traffie was the next runner into the finish. The final top five spots were taken by James Mormando and Tim Fisher, with the fifth spot going to the first female and local ace Kristen Ramey, in 22 minutes, 32 seconds.

Rounding out the top five spots for the ladies was an all New Ipswich affair with Heidi Somero, Yolanda Flamino, Naomi Traffie and Gretchen Smith filling those positions.

The Jack Murphy runs will resume next June.
