To the editor:
I find the Aug. 11 editorial to be insulting to those of us who supported Bernie in the primary “election.” It was obvious that the DNC put in “the fix” long before the convention. Remember the “coin tosses,” the hastily convened last- minute “caucuses” and the barring of young voters because they didn’t register for a party six months prior? And they want to criticize Republicans for setting up barriers to voters?
The idea that we should just all just vote for the most abhorrent candidate the DNC has floated in recent times is ludicrous. Blame us if Trump gets elected? Nope, blame the DNC for making a mockery of the “primary process” and choosing a candidate that has demonstrated she will not serve the interests of the common electorate, who has questionable dealings with the Clinton Foundation and Wall Street banks, and who can’t even follow simple State Department guidelines in the use of government computers. Rules are for commoners in her world.
But then the DNC should just change the name of the party. Not “Democrat” – that implies the people actually have a say in the process – but “DINO Party” i.e. “Democrat In Name Only. The New Hampshire Democratic leadership gave us the extended middle finger after we beat Hillary by 20 percent in the Democratic Primary when they then pledged the “superdelegates” to Hillary (Maggie, Jeanne, etc).
So I’m returning the favor by voting for anybody but a Democrat in the coming election. Actions have consequences!
