Tryouts for the South Meadow School soccer teams, field hockey, cross-country, and girls club volleyball teams will begin Aug. 31, after school, on the athletic fields. Any 6th-, 7th- or 8th-grade student is eligible to play any sport. 5th-grade students may try out for cross-country only. Tryout times are 2:30 to 4 p.m.
All players should bring water bottles, shin guards for soccer and field hockey, mouth guards for all sports except cross country and volleyball, proper footwear and clothing. Field hockey players should bring a field hockey stick and protective eye wear.
All athletes must have a signed parent permission form with them on the first day of tryouts. All forms may be picked up at the front desk or on the SMS web site.
