On July 27, the Conval Cal Ripken 11U All-Star Team capped a great all star season by winning the 2016 Salem Summer Tournament 7-4 against Salem.
Hitting was led by Wyatt Hutchinson who was 2-3 with 3 runs batted in, Ollie Theriault who was 3-3, and Owen Michaels who was 2-3 with an amazing diving defensive catch in the fourth inning.
Sam Scheinblum got the win by going 5 2/3 innings with 5 strikeouts. Otto Mclaughlin came in with bases loaded to shut down the game. Conval went 4-1-1 in the tournament.
“It was truly a team effort. Every game had a different player contribute to us winning this tournament. This was truly a pleasure to coach such a wonderful group of kids,” said Bill Theriault, Coach and President of the ConVal Cal Ripken League.
