Children’s Stage Adventures and the Hope for Gus Foundation are seeking youngsters ages 5 to 14 for a play production.

A one-week musical theater camp for the Children’s Stage Adventures production of “The Emperor’s New Clothes” will be held Aug. 15-20 at Peterborough Elementary School. Local children will be cast to appear in the show with CSA actor-educators Lorrie and Rob Gray.

Set in the frontier town of Royal City, “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is a new musical telling of the popular tale by Hans Christian Andersen, joined with the spirit of the American West.

Performances will be be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, at 1 and 6 p.m. at ConVal High School’s Lucy Hurlin Theater.

No advanced preparation is necessary to take part in the play.

The cost is $125 per child. Registration forms can be downloaded at www.hopeforgus.org.

A limited number of children can be accepted. Spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rehearsals times will be approximately 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., however, younger children may not need to be present for a few morning sessions, based on their assigned role.
