Howard Mansfield will visit the Dublin Community Center to give an illustrated talk about his new book “Sheds” on Thursday, July 21.
Everywhere in New England the shed has become a prominent feature in many a household. A shed can be something small or something large but most importantly many shelter dreams, dreams of a brand new chicken coop, a place to store tools, a sugar shack in the March moths, a shelter on the frozen lake while one fishes. Whatever kind of shack one may come across, most likely it has been the beginning of a passion and a dream.
Edie Clark also be there to talk about New England’s only surviving “spotter shed,” a World War Two aircraft warning observation post.
The presentation will begin at 7 p.m.
