The Economic Development Task Force in Rindge has been working to create a vision for the future of the town’s development.

Bruce Denoti, a member of the committee and its former chair, said in a recent interview that in the past year the Task Force has been focusing on creating a real estate survey of town-owned properties and making an inventory of properties in the town’s commercial districts.

The index of properties will be made available to those looking to develop in Rindge to encourage development in the commercial districts, said Donati.

“This was done to serve a purpose for anyone who is anxious to invest in Rindge,” said Donati.

The Task Force has also been working since the end of 2014 to update it’s action plan, which is currently being presented to the Planning Board and Select Board for their approval.

The action plan essentially lays out a vision for the economic development in the area, highlighting the pieces that the Task Force views as important existing resources as well as outlining resources that should be more strenously mined.

So while the preservation of the natural resources, tourism, and endeavors like the West Rindge Farmers and Crafters Market, it also suggests things like partnering more closely with Franklin Pierce University and in conjunction with the local Chamber of Commerce and Rindge businesses to help create graduates that fit in with the job market that already exists there, as well as attracting job markets with a built in employee pool as students graduate.
