A driver escaped serious injury Tuesday evening after flipping her vehicle along Route 202, according to local emergency officials.
The single-car rollover occurred at 6:13 p.m. at the intersection of Concord and Elm streets.
“This was right in the middle of town, so definitely everyone was wondering about it, but fortunately the driver was not seriously injured, and she refused transport,” said Fire Chief Marshall Gale. “The driver received some facial lacerations but nothing life-threatening.”
The Antrim Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
Woman flown to hospital after fall
In a separate incident Sunday, Aug. 30, an elderly Antrim woman sustained a severe head injury after falling down a flight of stairs.
Fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene after the woman fell down six or seven stairs, striking the back of her head on a stone surface.
“It was a pretty bad fall,” Gale said, noting the woman lost consciousness and suffered heavy bleeding.
A Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART) helicopter landed at Shea Field within 16 minutes of the call to transport the woman to Elliot Hospital in Manchester.
“Just as the ambulance was backing into Shea Field, they were already doing their recon flight and preparing to land,” Gale said, adding that local volunteers assisted flight crews with loading the patient.
Antrim Fire and Rescue had no update on the woman’s condition as of Wednesday.
