The New Hampshire Wild (2-8) defeated the First place Watertown Bucks (7-3) by the score of 11-7 Monday.
The Wild started things off by taking a 3-0 lead in the 3rd inning off Bucks starter Andrew Gottstein. Wild starter Garret Baker had a strong start before getting into some trouble in the fifth inning where the Bucks took a 5-3 lead. Baker had retired the first two batters of the inning but a two out walk and 5 consecutive hits put the Bucks back on top.
Baker was replaced by Gregory Jasek who got his first win of the season tonight. Jasek pitched 2 solid innings while getting some offensive help from Chris Jacobs who crushed a league-leading home run. Jacobs now has four homers in the season.
The game was left in the hands of the bullpen who did not allow a single run. After Jasek, Ryan Oglesby had a quick inning in the 7th followed by setup man Tony McClendon’s quick inning in the 8th and closer Jorge De Leon shut things down in the 9th with two strikeouts to end the game.
