Without funds or people to organize the event, there will be no Dublin Days this year, said a town official.

Select Board chair Sturdy Thomas confirmed Wednesday that there would be no Dublin Days this year.

“The recreation committee is the group that organizes the event, but as of right now, the town does not have a recreation committee,” said Thomas.

“We hope to repopulate the committee and expand its purpose.”

Steve Baldwin said the select board should have put out a call for volunteers.

“Dublin Days is a part of our history and heritage and community,” he said. “To think our Board of Selectmen would not support our recreation department is a disgrace.”

This year’s town budget left little possibility for Dublin Days to happen, as only $1 was appropriated for the event.
