KEENEMoco presents ‘Minutemen’

MoCo Arts’ Storytime Theatre will present a production of “The MoCo Minutemen” in the MoCo Arts Black Box Theatre on Sunday, June 12, at 2 and 4 p.m.

In 1775, Isaac Wyman and 29 Keene Minutemen gathered at the Wyman Tavern to march at the beginning of the Revolutionary War. Based on this time of change in American history, “The MoCo Minutemen” is an historical fiction, family-friendly musical, featuring the faces and stories of Keene during this time.

MoCo Arts will collaborate with the Historical Society of Cheshire County to bring the music, dance, costumes, and history of the Revolutionary War, and its close ties to Keene to life. The performance also will feature live music from local musicians Hunt and Allison, who specialize in traditional music of old New England.

Storytime Theatre is MoCo’s musical theatre class for children ages 4 years through 2nd grade. Students learn lines, cues and stage direction then perform a fully produced musical at the end of each semester.

Tickets are $10 for general admission.

To purchase tickets, call 357-2100 or visit www.moco.org.
