The South Meadow School baseball team beat Litchfield on Friday afternoon, 10-2, to win the Tri-County League championship. Liam Eliot started the game and pitched five innings, striking out four, before giving way to Will Theriault, who closed out the game. The play of the day went to Dylan Pipher, who ran back to catch a ball at the wall hit by Litchfieldโs Keegan Mills. Pipher snagged the ball and saved a homer, tumbling over the snow fence and emerging with the ball in his glove for the out. Mason Guilman also hit a huge triple.
