A special presentation by musician and inspirational speaker Christopher Duffley will be hosted by the Crotched Mountain Foundation on Thursday, June 9, at Carter Hall.
A Manchester native, Duffley is a 14-year-old, multi-instrumentalist and singer who is also blind and has autism. He is well-known for performing the National Anthem in front of audiences at Fenway Park, New Hampshire International Speedway, Delta Dental Stadium, and at conferences and events nationwide. Most recently Duffley sang the National Anthem at Crotched Mountain’s “Bruins Alumni Classic” benefit hockey game, and was featured in a special segment of N.H. Chronicle about New Hampshire people who perform the National Anthem.
Duffley did not speak until first grade, but soon learned he had perfect pitch and a talent for playing various instruments. His first public performance was at an elementary school assembly. Now, at 14 years old, in addition to performing the National Anthem live, Duffley produces a weekly Podcast called, “Mission Possible,” and has also released two albums of inspirational music. His performances have received millions of views on YouTube and GodTube. In 2013, Autism Speaks named him, “One of 10 Amazing Individuals with Autism who Shined.”
The presentation will begin at 3:15 p.m.
This presentation is part of Crotched Mountain’s Hilliard Lecture Series on disability-related topics. It honors Clint Hilliard, former head of the organization’s Speech and Language Department.
This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required as space is limited.
