The Greenfield Planning Board will recommend that Allrose Farm file for a fourth waiver related to a plan for the property to become a wedding venue.
The variance would mean Allrose Farm owner Michele Perron would not have to paint lines on her property for parking spots and traffic flow. Chair Paul Renaud said Perron could paint the lines if she wanted to, but with the parking area being in a field, it would present a challenge.
“I’m not sure if she is planning on spray painting the parking spots, but if she isn’t, then she should request a waiver,” said Renaud.
With Perron unable to attend the meeting Monday, the board held a work session to discuss issues related to the site plan.
In addition to a potential fourth waiver, the board said that Perron will have to show further proof that her septic plan is up to date and correctly permitted through the state.
The board also talked about potential reporting requirements for Perron.
Since the ordinance allowing her to hold weddings on her property is new, board members said they want to make sure everything is done correctly.
The board decided that data should be collected, such as when the events are held and how many people are attending, but no formal vote was taken on that issue. A form may be created so that keeping track of data will be easier.
“I think we need to designate someone to work with Michele on reporting this data, like the code enforcement officer,” said Robert Marshall, the Select Board’s representative to the Planning Board.
“We don’t want to micromanage her business or have her coming in here every week to talk to us about this.”
The board will discuss Perron’s proposal further at its June 13 meeting at 7:30 p.m.
Renaud said he hopes to have Police Chief Brian Giammarino in attendance to discuss potential issues associated with an increase in traffic at the venue.
