The Mascenic baseball team wasted little time on Monday afternoon, jumping out to a 5-0 first-inning lead on Wilton-Lyndeborough and staying ahead until the end, eventually winning 9-2.

The early damage was done by Mascenic first baseman Roman Ojala, who doubled in Daimon Gibson and Scott Humphrey, and Cooper Wayrynen, who tripled to knock in Ojala and Travis Rautiola. Ojala finished 3-4 with three RBI.

Chase Holombo pitched a complete game with eight Ks for the win.

Christian Seeley came in in relief for WLC and pitched well; Seeley would also knock in a run for the Warriors.

Mascenic (9-4) is in the upper third of Division III going into Wednesday afternoon’s tilt with rival Conant. Wilton-Lyndeborough (7-5) has mighty Sunapee (11-1) on Thursday at 4 p.m.; the Warriors handed the Lakers their only loss of the season, a 2-0 affair in the first game of the year.
