Peterborough will not be directing its School Board to conduct a study of the impacts of one or more member towns withdrawing from the ConVal School District. The study, as well as a separate article that would have raised $20,000 in funds to support it, both failed in the most contentious votes of the day Tuesday. The town voted 328 yes to 376 no to conducting the study, and 314 yes 391 no to fund it.

Select Board incumbent Barbara Miller handily defeated newcomer challenger Anna Cote.

In one of only two contested races on the ballot this year, Miller won out over Cote in a 578-122 vote. In the other contested race, between Jeanie West and Andrew Dunbar for Library Trustee, West overwhelmingly carried the vote 465-166.

All other articles on the ballot, including the $13.9 million budget and 12 zoning amendments, passed overwhelmingly.
