Sophomore midfielder Briana Sweeney of the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team has been named to the All-Northeast-10 Conference Second Team, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the Conference office.
It is the first career All-Conference selection for the sophomore, who led the team in scoring this spring with 63 points on 54 goals and nine assists. The 54 goals are currently good enough to tie for third in the Northeast-10, while the 63 points rank ninth. Sweeney currently ranks 19th in the country in goals per game (3.38) and 50th in the nation in points per game (3.94). Along the way this spring, she went 18-for-36 (50%) in free-position attempts, collected 32 ground balls, tallied 31 draw controls, caused 21 turnovers while committing 29, and attempted 124 shots, including 100 on goal.
