The Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse team fell behind early in the first half, and created a deficit it could not come back from. Pace was able to capitalize on its faceoff wins to take the game, 17-8, on Saturday afternoon in the Northeast-10 conference match-up on Sodexo Field.
With the loss, the Ravens finish their season at 5-7 overall record, with their conference record sitting at 4-6. Meanwhile, the Pace Setters advance their record 11-5 overall and 7-4 in conference.
Senior attack Casey Burnett was able to get the 84th and final goal of his career with eight seconds on the board, just before the Ravens fell, 17-8.
Ben Lassow lead the Ravens in scoring with two goals, while junior defender Robert Meyers collected five ground balls. As a team, the Ravens took 38 shots, collected 32 ground balls, caused six turnovers and went 100% in clears (22-for-22).
Saturday’s losing keeper was senior Nick Burgio, with his record now 0-2 on the season. Burgio faced 16 shots on goal over the first half of the game, and made six saves.
