A three-vehicle crash temporarily shut down Route 101 through Wilton by Intervale Road on Monday morning. No serious injuries were reported.
Wilton Police Chief John Frechette said a driver, Nate Hamilton of Dover, fell asleep at the wheel and veered into the opposite lane.
Then, two cars swerved to avoid Hamilton’s car, resulting in an “almost head-on” collision that deployed airbags and totaled the vehicles, Frechette said.
