Wary of pipeline suspension

To the editor:

Once more my wife and I would like to thank the Ledger-Transcript for its wonderfully thorough reporting on the Kinder Morgan pipeline proposal. I believe you have helped the community unite in its opposition. Thank you also to the many citizens who became so involved and helped educate us on so many of the concerns.

However, I am writing to warn this โ€œsuspensionโ€ is no occasion to celebrate. I believe the battle will resume after the November elections.

Here is my interpretation of what really transpired.

Gov. Hassan locked in battle with Sen. Ayotte, and Sen. Clinton locked in battle with Donald Trump.

Both Hassan and Clinton have taken thousands of dollars from Richard Kinder himself. I am suggesting that Hassan and Clinton requested that Richard back off his pipeline plan until after the November election, so that it would not become an issue during their campaigns.

If they were both elected suddenly, KM would find a local market for their gas, magically, and they would proceed.

Note, KM has not withdrawn their FERC application.

In my opinion these are evil, greedy forces we are working against. Why would some pipeline company CEO even bother to โ€œcontributeโ€ money to Maggie Hassan? I do not understand why Bernie Sandersโ€™ message about big corporate money buying big government influence does not resonate with even more of the population.

So in closing, please remain vigilant, keep the โ€œNo Pipelineโ€ signs posted. Thank you.
