Playing in the second of their back-to-back road games last Wednesday, WLC made a nearly unheard-of 11 errors as they lost 9-6.
Despite some early errors, WLC still led 6-4 going into the last of 6th.
“All we had to do was play some D,” said head coach Dennis Claire. Pitcher Lexi Balam gave up a home run to make it 6-5. After that, WLC made four errors in the inning, including three on one play, and the floodgates opened.
Senior Sara Holka had two hits and Ally Schwab had two of her own.
“We are struggling on both offense and defense and hopefully we will get better or it could be a long season,” Claire said.
The Warriors were able to bounce back on Friday with one of their twice-annual thrashings of Pittsfield. Wilton-Lyndeborough scored 23 runs and held Pittsfield to only one, as nearly every Warrior was able to contribute in the big win.
WLC (3-3) is off until Monday, when they host Hinsdale (2-1) at 4 p.m.
