Women’s lacrosseRavens win one and lose one

The Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team battled Southern New Hampshire University evenly in the first half at Larkin Field, but the Penmen scored the last four goals of the first to take a lead they would not relinquish. Despite senior midfielder Lauren Beville’s five-goal day, the Ravens fell, 17-11, in Saturdayafternoon’s Northeast-10 Conference contest.

With the loss, the Ravens’ record falls 6-4 overall and 3-4 in conference play, while the Penmen advance to 8-3 overall and 4-3 in the NE-10.

In the second half, the Ravens found themselves on the wrong side of a 6-2 run. Lauren Beville had the two goals for the Ravens. SNHU put up six goals, including Alexa Bedell with a hat trick, to take the win, 17-11.

 Beville led the Ravens with five goals and added three ground balls while causing two turnovers. Overall, Franklin Pierce took 28 shots, collected 16 ground balls and won 10 draw controls. Sophomore goalkeeper Denise Hunt faced 37 shots on goal and made 20 saves, but her record fell to 6-4.
