When taking about politics, almost everyone has different believes, views, or even standards for each candidate in the running. While having group discussions in my civics class, I can’t help but think my vote could make all the difference in the world once Election Day rolls around.

I love talking about all the candidates as a whole because everyone in my class has a different take or insight on a broad perspective on views. While researching in class, watching the news, or even watching the Republican/Democratic debates, it’s easy for me to pinpoint what I want from a president rather than picking away at the personality of each person.

Bernie Sanders has really stood out for me in more ways than just one. Three topics that he believes are important and something he would continue to fight for would be woman’s rights, education and college loans as a whole.

Bernie talks about women’s rights and how he wants them to have every opportunity in the world, and to stand up and fight for what they believe to be true. He wants women to have all the options that men have and for them to be recognized in all the same light. He fights for equal pay all across the board for women and all that they stand for, which to me is something that really hits home. Women have come a long way and they have proved they can be just as successful as men when given the opportunity.

While going through my civics class as a senior I have learned a lot about many issues, but one that shines through the rest for me would have to be education.

Bernie takes into consideration that each family is different and the middle to lower classes vary in many different ways. Education really shines through for me because I will be a college student in the upcoming year, I will have to take out many loans just to get the education I think suits me. Bernie also touches the subject of parents and how much they make in a year. He believes that your parents should not define how much money you will be granted for college and in many ways I, too, wish for a change.

I believe that education is crucial in the sense that in order to one day get a decent paying job, it is so very important to learn that structure and how work ethic needs to be impeccable in order to be considered for the job. Bernie is willing to fight for lowest/ free tuition at colleges and universities. While knowing one day I want to be a teacher, this step needs to be touched upon because all of the loans I face in my future sometimes frightens me.

Bernie, for me, simply lays out all the many issues I have and somehow makes a game plan for every situation in hand.
