Franklin Pierce Universityโ€™s Rindge campus was alive with activity Saturday as the Class of 2029 and first-year transfer students moved in, arriving from 23 states and 17 countries.

Families were greeted by teams of student-athletes, coaches, faculty and staff who helped unload cars and carry belongings into residence halls. Organized by Student Affairs and Residence Life, the day included support from student peer leaders and faculty members assisting.

New arrivals and families attended The Raven Runway Fair — a welcome event that included a DJ, relaxation and stress-relief activities and information tables for services such as Career Development and Student Employment, Sodexo Dining Services and Student Wellness and Outreach Education. Special programming was also offered for transfer and international students.

Parents expressed appreciation for the welcoming atmosphere. Ryan Prentice, whose daughter Sophia will major in health science and play womenโ€™s ice hockey, said the experience exceeded expectations.

โ€œIt was extra special for us that Coach Stockdale was in the residence hall waiting to welcome us, and all the students helping us move in were great,โ€ Prentice said. โ€œSince we live in New York, I really appreciate following along with the universityโ€™s social media. It makes my family feel part of whatโ€™s happening on campus, even being hours away.โ€

Returning students moved in Sunday and Monday. Fall semester classes begin Tuesday, Aug. 26.
