Town officials in Dublin are contemplating an operating budget of $2,771,142 for 2025. That figure, while not finalized, was recommended by the Select Board at Monday’s meeting in advance of the Budget Committee’s further consideration this week.
This year’s budget is just over 5% more than last year’s request of approximately $2.63 million dollars.
In addition to the operating budget warrant article, $619,000 is requested per Budget Committee final approval for capital improvements. Specifics of this total include $250,000 for road construction, $161,000 for fire equipment, $85,000 for heavy highway equipment and $68,000 for maintenance of town buildings. $50,000 of the total request would come from the Unassigned Fund Balance and $569,000 from taxation.
Other warrant articles include $225,000 to chip seal town roads and $107,000 for a one ton dump truck, both of which would be paid for out of Capital Reserve Funds.
Residents will also be asked to decide whether to raise $150,000 for improvements at the Transfer Station with funds coming from the Recycling Special Reserve Fund and whether to explore the prospect of a solar array on town property on Cobb Meadow Road. using $4,000 from the Energy Capital Reserve.
The Budget Committee was scheduled to revisit the warrant articles this week.
