The Conant swim team began its season at Lebanon on Friday, where the Orioles got off to a good start under new head coaches Emalee Frady and Joe Muhonen.

Amalia Stenerson and Scott LaBrecque both qualified for the state meet in the 50 freestyle; Stenersen qualified with a time of 27.70 (qualifying time was a 28.49) and LaBrecque qualified with a time of 25.98 (qualifying time was a 25.99). Stenersen also qualified in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:12.53 (qualifying time was a 6:20.99).

Garrett Cournoyer qualified for states in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:09.96 (qualifying time was 1:11.49). LaBrecque also qualified in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:13.73 (qualifying time was 1:17.99).

Anna Baldwin also got a new personal record in the 100 breaststroke, her original time was 1:43.04 and dropped to 1:41.97. Matthew Simmons got a new personal record in the 100 Freestyle entry time was 1:10.49 and swam a 1:08.52.

โ€œAll of our swimmers did amazing and swam hard,โ€ Frady said. โ€œMany improved and everyone swam their hearts out. This is a great way to start the season.โ€

Conant is at Keene Friday at 6 p.m.
