To the editor:
Thanks to many for support of the ‘Friendship to Guatemala’ fundraiser held on Oct. 25 at the Hilltop Golf Course.
The organizers want to thank all who attended and the wonderful generosity of the local businesses who donated to the silent auction: Annicka & Koko Event Planning, Ava Marie’s, Bantam Grill, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Birch Creek Flowers, The Butterfly Place, Embody Wellness Studio, European Esthetics, Harvest Nutrition and Wellness, Hannaford Supermarket of Keene, Kate Preftakes Photography, Lori Weeks, Manhattan East Hair Design, Pat’s Peak, Pearl Restaurant, Red Sox, Santa’s Village, Shaw’s Peterborough, SportStop.com, Starbucks of Keene, and Target of Keene.
We would particularly like to thank Annie Card of the Hilltop whose support and encouragement made all the difference.
The $6,500 raised at the event will be used to buy water filters, bunk beds, and clean-burning woodstoves for the village of Yalú, Guatemala, and supplies for the El Amor de Patricia children’s home through El Amor de Patricia and The Bunk Bed Project.
Team Friendship will travel to Guatemala in February in 2020 to work with El Amor de Patricia and The Bunk Bed Project, and have lots to do thanks to the amazing generosity of our local community. Donations will be gratefully accepted until mid February at team-friendship-guatemala.myshopify.com.
