To the editor:
Our cat, Mittens, was shot by a beebee gun Sunday. We don’t know who shot him or where it occurred, except we can guess it came from somewhere on Howard Hill Road near the Little Michigan entrance, as he was seen dragging his body up through the woods to our backyard.
He suffered some kind of paralysis of his hind end. I am angry beyond belief. I can’t even put into words how shocked and upset I am that someone would shoot an ordinary house cat with a beebee gun, then leave that cat to drag itself off, half-paralyzed. We can’t believe this would happen in our quaint, quiet neighborhood!
As a results of his injuries, Mittens had to be put to sleep.
Let this be a warning to other indoor/outdoor cat owners to beware and to please report any incidences of similar events to Jaffrey Police Department. If you know something about what happened, please contact Jaffrey police so they can further investigate.
Thank you for your time.
