It may be a little late this year, but Autumn Fest is returning for its ninth year with games, food and live music.
The annual event will take place at New Ipswich’s Memorial Field this Saturday, Oct. 15, though it usually appears on the first weekend of October.
“We have a bunch of vendors coming out, and games for kids and prizes,” Nichole Talbot, New Ipswich parks and recreation coordinator, said.
She is leading the event for the first time, but was involved in last year’s.
In addition to traditional fun festival-goers have enjoyed in past years, the 2016 edition will offer some new activities, like scarecrow building and a photo booth.
Some activities, including the obstacle course and scarecrow contest, will cost money, but the proceeds will go to various causes.
“If there’s a non-profit organization, we want them to come and raise funds,” Talbot said.
Boynton eighth-graders are running a cow pie bingo contest, where cows plop down to pick a letter-number combination instead of drawing balls. They have been selling cards leading up to the festival, where cards will still be available. The winner will get $200 and the rest of the funds raised will go to the school’s class trip.
Local vendors will be selling hot food and local artists will be performing live music at Memorial Field from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 15. There is parking available on Temple Road and Playground Road.
