Firelight Theatre Workshop, 70 Main St., No. 204, in Peterborough, has scheduled fall programs around the theme of “In and Out.”

Firelihght will host “Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead” Oct. 27 to Nov. 13. The show is a comedic imagining of two minor characters from Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. A meditation on existence, Academy and Tony Award winner Tom Stoppard (“Arcadia,” “The Real Thing,” “Shakespeare in Love”) wrote the show, which is directed by Henry Walters.

Peterborough native and storyteller Erika MacDonald will perform her solo show “The Barn Identity,” with musical underscoring by Paul Strickland, Monday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m.

MacDonald went to the emergency room because of a movie she saw, and now is obsessed with falling-down barns. Through storytelling, music and design, this theatrical essay explores the usefulness of beauty in one’s life as the performer looks back at her first recognized encounter with her own mental illness.
