Caldecott Medalist Beth Krommes of Peterborough will visit the Toadstool Bookshop on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., to introduce her latest picture book for children.
“Before Morning” features a story by Joyce Sidman with scratchboard art illustrations by Krommes.
There are planes to fly and buses to catch, but a child uses the power of words, in the form of an invocation, to persuade fate to bring her family a snow day, a day slow and unhurried enough to spend at home together.
In 2009, Krommes won the Caldecott Medal, the nation’s highest honor for the art in a children’s picture book, for “House In The Night.”
This event is free and all are welcome.
