The Wilton-Lyndeborough boys’ soccer team beat a new local rival, Conant, on Tuesday. WLC won 2-1n the first meeting between the two teams in years. Tim Neu scored the first Warrior goal on an assist from Jack Schwab, rocketing the ball in off the fingertips of Oriole keeper Colby Bartlett. Later in the first half, Schwab sent a corner into the box, where Jake LeVert flew in out of nowhere, got completely horizontal and headed the ball — directly into the ground, where it ricocheted straight up and tucked itself in under the crossbar for a score. Kole Patten’s second-half goal got Conant fired up, but a Colby Bartlett header in the waning moments went high and the Orioles went down. Conant (2-2) travels to Campbell (3-0) Friday at 4 p.m. WLC (2-2) heads to Concord Christian (2-0) Friday at 3:30 p.m.
