There was only one goal to be had in the Conant/Raymond boys’ soccer game on Friday, and fortunately for the Orioles, it was scored by Ryan Smith. Smith headed in the game’s only goal off of a free kick by James Record in the second minute of the game. From there, Colby Bartlett got the shutout with some great saves, and Conant won 1-0.
“It was a strong defensive showing for Conant,” said head coach Dan Bemis, “only allowing a few shots on goal.”
Conant (2-1) travels to WLC (1-2) Tuesday at 4 p.m.
