This is what I wish I had heard from town officials at the hearing for the new fire station in Peterborough — “We will do whatever we can over the next few months to lower the cost, by reducing the scope, reassessing needs versus wants and examining every line item for possible cost savings.”
Let’s concentrate on what is essential and eliminate what’s not, so that we can give our dedicated firefighters and EMTs the building they deserve at a price the taxpayers can afford.
