I would like to thank the Francestown Volunteer Fire Department members with their equipment for stepping up to provide for the closing of the roads so Francestown could safely celebrate Memorial Day May 27. Their volunteer work enabled the students, teachers and chaperones of Francestown Elementary School to safely march with the color guard to Cemetery No. 3.
Once inside the gate, all marched to the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier for the Memorial Day ceremony. This was an educational and historical opportunity to honor our fallen service members. Once again, thanks to the members of the Francestown Volunteer Fire Department for taking their personal time to ensure the safety of all attendees.
