The Peterborough Players will return to wrap up 2021 with a virtual show this weekend before turning to simulcast opera performances to start the new year.

The Peterborough Players Digital Year-end Cabaret will be available online at no charge from Friday at 7:30 p.m. through Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The cabaret will feature a fabulous collection of holiday fare, musical theater tunes, and standards performed by a host of Players favorites. Currently scheduled to appear are Claire D. Kolheim (Aretha Franklin in โ€œBeehive: the 60โ€™s Musicalโ€ at the Players); Pamela Bob (Audrey in โ€œLittle Shop of Horrorsโ€); Pedro Kaโ€™awaloa (Patrick in โ€œWhere You Areโ€); Madeline Kendall (Rebecca in โ€œOur Townโ€); Susie Stevens, Greg Wood, and Laura Wood (โ€œGod of Carnage;โ€ย โ€œShe Loves Meโ€); Hallie D. Chapman (Tina Turner in โ€œBeehive: the 60โ€™s Musicalโ€); K.P. Powell (George in โ€œOur Townโ€); Katie Shults (Lulu in โ€œBeehive: the 60โ€™s Musicalโ€); Gilly Caulo (Sam Craig in โ€œOur Townโ€); friend of the Players Paige Mason, and cabaret lovers Bridget Beirne and Kraig Swartz.

Warm up the hot cocoa (or something a little stronger), get cozy and enjoy this Playersโ€™ holiday gift, right in your living room. The cabaret will be available for a limited time. The show can be viewed by tuning into the Players website, YouTube channel, or Facebook page.

The Players announced last week that they wonโ€™t be staging any live performances this winter, but โ€œThe Met: Live in HD,โ€ the series of operatic simulcasts, begins Jan. 1 with โ€œCinderella.โ€
