ConVal senior Molly Dishong won her third straight slalom state title at the NHIAA Division II championships at Cranmore Tuesday. Dishong, who won both the GS and slalom races last year and the slalom in 2020, took first in DII with a combined 1:10.94, holding off runner-up Ashley Garside of Kennett.
Garside edged out Dishong in the GS, winning by just .54 seconds (58.01).
ConVal took third in the slalom behind Kennett and Souhegan; the Cougars got scoring finishes from Jennifer Hopkins (13th), Caitlin Beal (23rd) and Lucy Jackson (32nd).
ConVal was fourth in the GS, behind Hanover, Kennett and Souhegan. Scoring for the Cougars: Hopkins (15th), Eva McCullough (32nd), Laramie Wilson (48th) and Zoey Lazzaro (52nd).
The ConVal boys raced at Cranmore Monday and also put out a good effort in their final races of the season.
Garrett Rousseau was the top finisher in either race for the boys, taking 11th in the slalom in 1:13.81. Ben Fraley (25th), Owen Kotula (27th) and Fletcher Maggs (39th) scored for ConVal.
Fraley was ConVal’s best in the GS, finishing 24th; also scoring were Carter Rousseau (27th), Kotula (31st) and Garrett Rousseau (36th).
Holland Calcutt was named as the school’s skimeister for excelling in both alpine and Nordic skiing this winter.
Dishong qualified for the Meet of Champions in both events and will race at Cannon Mountain on Feb. 24.
