After multiple board discussions and deliberations, the proposal to expand Ben’s Sugar Shack has been approved by Temple’s Planning Board.

Last week, owner Ben Fisk thanked the Planning Board for their work evaluating the project and said that he was excited to get to work on the project.

It includes an expansion to the business’s main building, which Fisk said will help improve business and customer experience. “I think it’s going to make a world of difference for me,” he said. “Knowing what I know today and the way I designed the building, the flow of the company will be much better.”

Fisk also said that he was grateful that the process of getting it approved is more or less over. “Just the Select Board next,” he said. “I’m really glad that it’s over with now – it put us a year behind schedule.”

They plan to start work on expanding in 2022, he said.

“We’re super excited, all of our employees are really happy. We’re just really excited for it, and we think that we can just expand the business more,” he said. “I’m excited to showcase our working farm to the public.”
