Join the Music on Norway Pond outdoor chorus of carolers for “Noel on Norway Pond” at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20 on the Hancock Common. Everyone who loves to sing is invited.
Artistic Director Jody Hill Simpson has put together a short program of 14 holiday favorites for all to sing. The group will be led by three professional trumpeters from the New England Conservatory of Music, perched in the gazebo on Hancock’s picturesque Common on the west end of Main Street. Music on Norway Pond will have booklets on hand with such classics as “Jingle Bells” and “Deck the Halls,” which carolers can also download from www.musiconnorwaypond.org. Bring a candle, a warm coat, and a mask, and join old and new friends for a celebration of the holiday spirit.
The Hancock Common is just across the road from the First Congregational Church, the place where Music on Norway Pond’s indoor concerts usually occur. Organizers will be at a table to greet you and invite you to sign up for future announcements and to give you a mask and a candle if you need one. Volunteers will help with parking if needed and to help ensure social distancing.
